VERSION 0.3.0 RELEASE


Half Shell underwent a massive update, mostly in the realm of art and VFX.

VERSION 0.3.0 FEATURES

Settings:

  • Player can now adjust FOV and mouse sensitivity in new settings menu

Sequences:

  • Added intro sequence. You can formally meet Apollyon, the Angel of Death, and he will guide the start of your noble quest

Revised Tutorial Level:

  • Have fun exploring a revised level, with more to explore and interact with!

Enemy Updates:

  • Enemy models are in! Red are still melee and Green are still ranged. Watch out though…
  • Ranged enemies now have the option of following the player instead of remaining stationary.
  • Enemies each hold models of their respective weapons… shivers
  • Limb system: damage scales based on where you hit an enemy. Headshots do more damage than regular shots.
  • GORE: blood splatters appear on the ground when you hurt an enemy, and a pool of blood oozes from their dead bodies which ragdoll on a kill. Blood giblets spew from an enemy on destruction of its body.

Objects:

  • Added explosive barrels… watch out! May make a good weapon or path clearer though…

Art:

  • Brand new modeled and textured assets & props!
  • Environmental Models & Props: trees, rocks, cars, barrels (explosive & regular), logs, tools, & more!
  • Interior Models: couch, clock, TV, bookshelf, lamp, & more!
  • Pickups: health has a new model to abide by the Geneva Convention (whoops!)
  • Textures: new dirt and path textures to guide your way
  • Shaders: new shaders added to sell the “retro shooter” look!
  • Decals: bullet hole decals appear where your shots land on objects, blood splatter decals appear

VFX:

  • New visual effects with gun muzzle flashes, explosions

Sounds:

  • New foley sounds and auditory feedback.
